'Well -  this seems to be a nice home, but I may have been a little quiet on my first day,  I hope I didn't give the wrong impression while I was just settling in and getting used to the smell of things. I assure you that is not the real me.  There is nothing I like more than running around, over and between people’s feet as they try and walk and as long as I am near my new mistress ALL the time,  all is well. She made a mistake at bedtime. She put me in this crate thing with some silly toys and left me - it was a very good chance to try out my vocal cords as I just want to make it quite clear I DO NOT LIKE BEING LEFT ON MY OWN.'
